Super Saturday

We'll have a quick welcome in the gym and then break off into classes taught by... your fellow ward members! You'll get a chance to attend 4 different classes:

REMINDER: Bishop has asked that as ward members, we plan to attend Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, May 2. Due to a new church calling, Bro. Watkins will be released from our ward bishopric that afternoon. Please come to show your appreciation and support for all he has done for us. :)


GRACIA JONES, the Great, Great Granddaughter of Joseph and Emma Smith speaking on "EMMA SMITH" for the Friday Night Tabernacle Fireside, May 7th at 7:00pm

Gracia Jones is a renowned historian on the life of Emma Smith and has lectured on her life for many years. This will be a unique opportunity for our members and even non-members.

"MOVING PIONEER STORIES in ART", at Visitors' Center Exhibit starts May 15th (and continues for 3 weeks) featuring the art of JULIE ROGERS.

Julie's art has been prominently and repeatedly featured in the publications of the Church, including numerous pioneer paintings and Joseph and Emma Smith. She also recently completed the huge Santa Clara Mural in the Santa Clara Town Hall.

Julie passionately portrays pioneers and their sacrifices as well as triumphs. Her works are truly masterful and inspiring.

No "WHY I BELIEVE" Fireside on May 16th due to the use of the Tabernacle for Seminary Graduation. President and Sister Neil Pitts of the Provo Utah Mission will be the June 20th speakers.

Wednesday, May 5th, 7:00pm - Southern Utah Dixie Children's Choir - a talented group providing an uplifting and memorable evening.

Friday, May 7th, 12:15pm - Adam Hansen and Jadon Webster - this is a highly talented local duo on the organ/piano and vocalist.

Saturday, May 8th, 7:00pm - Sotto Voce Strings - a Salt Lake based ensemble group playing Bach for his 235th Birthday.

Stake Conference Weekend

--Ward BBQ Activity @ 1 PM. Come to Vernon Worthen Park (300 S. 400 E.) and bring a favorite food item to share.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010--There is a special pre-stake conference stake temple day and evening. This includes a Chapel Session @ 7:00 PM.

THURSDAY, APRIL 22, 2010--Stake Relief Society Social @ 6:30 PM. Come to the Institute Building to enjoy a guest speaker, Jesika Henderson Harmon (America Junior Miss 2000). Dinner will be served; dress is nice casual.

SATURDAY, APRIL 24, 2010

SATURDAY, APRIL 24, 2010--Evening Session @ 7-8:30 PM. All members are invited to attend at the Institute Building.

SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2010--Priesthood Leadership Session @ 8-9:30 AM. This is for all high council members, bishopric members, clerks, Elders' Quorum presidencies, secretaries, and Ward Mission leaders.

SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2010--General Session @ 10-Noon. All members are invited to attend at the Institute Building.

Dedication Week

Mar 22-27.  The purpose of this week is to take our ward goals into action! If you have any ideas or suggestions for what we can do better as a ward, please email kup6@hotmail.com. Any suggestions, any at all!

Monday-  Family Home Evening. Get together with friends in the ward and share this message- "The Importance of Holding a Family Council". (link will be here soon).

Wednesday-  Temple Night. Meet at 7pm in the chapel for a special endowment session with a member of the temple presidency. There will also be a group meeting in the baptistry at 8pm, followed by everyone coming together to eat pie in the cafeteria together.

Friday-  Date Night/ DI Drive. Meet at the church at 6pm for a nice dinner and guest speaker. Bring anything and everything you can donate to the Deseret Industries, and we'll haul them to the DI for you. They are in special need for goods at this time.

SaturdaySoftball Tournament. Meet at the Gubler softball feilds at 9am. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch! Come enjoy some sunshine :)

Fill out the "get-to-know-you" sheet, come play games to find out which fact belongs to whom. Sweet prizes for the winners. And of course... yumminess will be shared (brownies, chips and dip, fresh veggies, chocolate chip cookies... that kind of yumminess).

There will be a special giveaway for ALL who attend.

Tuesday, Jan. 26th--Indexing Marathon
7:45pm at Our Church Building
Whoever indexes the most names in 30minutes will get movie tickets, there will also be medals awarded as well as refreshments!

Wednesday, Jan. 27th--Temple Session with President Romney of the Temple Presidency
For those endowed--Be seated in the chapel by 7:00pm
For those not currently endowed--The baptistry is reserved for our ward at 8:00pm
Everyone--Pie and time together in the cafeteria at 9:20pm

Thursday, Jan. 28th--Baptisms, Initiatories, and Sealings
Everyone is encouraged to make it a priority to participate in any of these ordinances at a time that works best for them
